Goodreads peeps:

Ever not been able to find a book on there?

(I kept at it and eventually found it, but for a few minutes I felt really cheated...)

I feel like poo and haven't been to work in 3 days. I am going in tomorrow no matter what because I am going stir crazy. My doc couldn't fit me in until tomorrow afternoon. I'd be mad if I didn't like her so much.

I finished season 2 of the office today. I am mad that I missed the 40 % off dvd box set sale at borders this week. I would have bought season 3. Maybe also season 2 of How I Met Your Mother.

Big brother finale was boring. I liked this season, but the end was tedious.

I can't imagine what is waiting for me at work. At my new job, nobody really covers for you when you are out. It would be hard to do since all requests come via email. I am glad I put my out of office on on Friday. I hope I put my out of office on on Friday.

I don't know if it's because I am sick or what, but reading books has not really been of interest to me. It might be the books I have laying around. I don't know. I love reading, I just am having a hard time getting into books lately when I start reading them. Maybe I should get some new ones. Comment with ideas!

Take 5 candy bars are the best candy bars in the world. I bought a bag of bite size ones in the Halloween section of the supermarket. I rejoiced. We also bought fake Dippin Dots at the grocery store. They are ok, but not as good as real Dippin Dots.

Can you tell I have taken medicine? This post is disjointed and...I dunno. I can't come up with another adjective. Case in point.

So, how is it that it's only september and I am already starting to have a Christmas freakout?

Gift ideas, please!

Foster in the yard 2007 Foster in the yard 2007

Foster is scheduled for surgery on Friday. We noticed that one of his testicles is enlarged. It's about the size of a tennis ball so they are going to fix him. John has not wanted to fix him his whole life so this is unexpected. I hope he is ok, but with it swelling that much I am expecting bad news. He is such an old fella too, he's about 13+ so I am also pretty worried about them putting him under... I am so sad. I love this dog so much! I hope he is ok.

the war

I saw the saddest thing I have ever seen today--one of my coworkers found out that her son had been killed in Iraq. I don't know her too well and I don't know the details, but it was quite honestly the most heart wrenching thing I have ever experienced. I was talking to one of my teammates who is leaving for vacation tomorrow, going over some of her clients so I would be familiar (it happens to be GE, our largest customer) when we heard the most awful sounds from across the room. We could see a crowd gathering by peering over the cube walls. It was painstakingly obvious that someone had died from the sounds this poor woman was making. She practically had to be carried out of the building, wailing as she was supported by her teammates, crying out that it couldn't be true, her baby couldn't be dead. Everyone in the vicinity was crying their eyes out; I'm tearing up as I type this. There is beauty in true emotion--the pure humanity, the honesty, the cut through the bullshit of everyday life and being politically correct, boiled down to true feelings. This is something I will never forget. The silence after she was led away was overwhelming. People, such as I, who knew Mary Jane as only an acquaintance, who had only seen her in a meeting or two or maybe exchanged some small talk in the break room while fixing a cup of coffee, were quietly sitting at their desks, crying tears for a man we had never met and hoping our coworker will find the strength to make it through this.

Thank you to my mystery v gift giver!

I am home in NJ due to the sudden realization that my driver's license was about to expire. Am on mac and am bad at using it. Good shopping trip today. 4 shirts, brown heels, some makeup. Got a cute haircut. Pics to follow in next few days.

Not looking forward to driving home in flood tomorrow. :(

So, I guess I finally got mine for laughing when people fall and bust their ass on ice. On my way in after a monster shopping trip at Penny's (and a huuuuge bag to go with it), I slippd and fell on black ice, on the only shoveled/plowed/salted part of the parking lot.. As in, hey, I'll walk over here where they have made a path. Shit! I would have been better off in the snow. Luckily I did not fall on my ass (can you imagine if I re-injured my tail bone just when it is starting to feel all the way better?). But I am the proud owner of 2 scraped palms, and a throughly scraped and bruised right knee. (Good thing it wasn't my bad knee). Not only did I slip and hit the pavement, I also managed to land my knee right on top of a ice/snow pile. Owwwwie.

In other disappointing news, I realized while doing my latch rug last night that they did not send me enough of one of the colors in the pattern. I am super pissed. I could make them send me more I'm sure, but I just want to get on with it. So I am filling it in with a color I have a whole box of, that is also in the pattern. Luckily the pattern is abstract so it will look ok.

Ok, I'm gonna go and lay down know.
